As a member of our Operations Team, you will use independent judgment and discretion to manage and oversee our in-house ripening program. The Ripening Specialist will be responsible for ensuring optimal ripening conditions, monitoring quality, and coordinating ripening schedules to meet customer specifications and delivery timelines. 

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure accurate documentation of ripening logs, inventory movements, and all necessary data
• Monitor product ripening process
• Operate computer controlled pressurized ripening rooms
• Manage cooler product placement & control for ripened/un-ripened products
• Product rotation via FIFO
• Reporting to the Facility Supervisor with regards to special ripening processes/lines
• Assist with order packing
• Maintenance of all ripening equipment & materials
• Ensuring all food safety, work safety procedures, policies, and regulations are followed
• Keeping warehouse clean and tidy

Qualifications include:

• Minimum 2-3 years extensive knowledge in product receiving
• Ability to operate & manage ripening processes
• Strong knowledge of ethylene application, temperature and humid control
• Experience in strong leadership skills
• Extensive product knowledge – local & important products
• Knowledge and ability to carry out all workplace safety precautions
• Power jacks & Forklift licenses are an asset
