As one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for a detail-oriented and focused Accounting Supervisor to join our growing team!

The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for leading the A/P Team as well as various accounting responsibilities, including financial statement preparation, reconciling, invoicing, analyses, and reporting.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Supervising the performance of the Accounting Analyst – A/P team
• Overseeing and supporting the accounts payable process including payments on terms, approvals, claims by buyers for trade accounts and watching our cash flow
• Preparing payments with the backup documents for signatures and disbursement of payments.
• Reviewing the accounts payable process for non-trade vendors
• Preparing and filing GST and other compliance filings and remittances.
• Assisting the Financial Controller and/or Assistant Accounting Manager with preparing the monthly financial statements and ensuring preliminary statements are ready by the fifth business day of each month
• Assisting the Financial Controller and/or Assistant Accounting Manager with preparing the working paper files and year-end financial statements for external auditors

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Min. 2 years of relevant Accounting experience, Accounting major ideal
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in financial record keeping.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
