Are you looking for a growth opportunity and to be part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team? As one of Canada's Platinum Best Managed Companies, we are currently looking for an energetic and focused Business Development talent to join our Toronto team.

As a member of our Sales Team, your diverse and strategic role as a Business Development Manager is vital to servicing and meeting the needs of our customers.

 

With a solid understanding of grocery retail categories, you will leverage existing buyer relationships and utilize your grit to gain listings and increase distribution while identifying new business opportunities. Strategic Initiatives will incorporate brand-specific marketing plans, including Mike & Mike’s natural health brands, as well as account-specific promotional activities, profitability and working with the supply chain. This role will act as a conduit between the Account, Purchasing, Marketing and Sales management.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining and enhancing current relationships within our existing customer base (communication with key contacts) and recommending solutions where required.
  • Identifying new brands for consideration and executing new business opportunities.
  • Business planning: ads, listings, product launches, forecasting, promotions and pricing.
  • Attending Trade Shows and Trade Events as required.
  • Creating and maintaining a vendor promotion calendar.
  • Executing key account objectives/plans for customer promotions.
  • Planning and sales forecasts - ensuring all aspects of sales and marketing strategies achieve the expected level of case sales and profit margins.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • 2-3 years’ sales and business development background with knowledge specifically of CPG retailers in either the Local, Regional or National level.
  • Established relationships within the CPG industry at both the Head Office and retail level.
  • Demonstrated track record of growing brands via distribution and revenue.
  • Desire to win with a can-do attitude and bring grit to expand and grow the business.
  • Critical thinker, tenacious and innately competitive.
  • Hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • GS1 ProSync experience is beneficial.
