As a member of the Production Line team: perform work in a team-based setting, operating various equipment and/or performing tasks that contribute to the production of high-quality produce. Work with minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
As a Supervisor: support the daily management of the production department. Supervises the department and staff and acts as the go-to person in the absence of the Production Manager/Assistant Manager. Responsibilities include management of all functions of quality control, sanitation, and stock rotation; as well as, planning, assigning, and leading the work of others.
SCHEDULE AVAILABLE:
- Days - 5 days - Flexible
- Time - 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality fresh-cut fruits and vegetables for foodservice and retail markets, including operating dicers, cutters, slicers, and packaging equipment.
- Complete and review daily production quality check sheets.
- Monitor workflow within the department to ensure staff have the support they need and that questions or issues are addressed promptly.
- Maintain quality and freshness standards for all produce handled within the department.
- Assist the production management team with coordinating and scheduling the timely processing of products based on customer needs.
- Follow direction from the Production Manager and keep them informed of department activities.
- Perform additional tasks or operate equipment as directed by the Production Manager.
PM Shift Supervisory Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and process orders for am/pm trucks.
- Maintain and verify par levels; perform recounts and record updates.
- Manage ZPS orders, including organizing, adjusting, and adding to existing orders.
- Organize ZPS stickers for grab‑and‑go, ferries, Vancouver, and pick-up orders.
- Prepare and organize products for opening orders, ensuring all items are complete and ready for picking.
- Manage staffing levels to meet production demands; approve and coordinate overtime when necessary.
- Ensure proper product rotation is followed.
- Maintain cooler organization, cleanliness, and food‑safety standards.
- Ensure all processed items meet production quality requirements, including julienne date coverage.
- Complete end‑of‑shift procedures: shutdown checklist, bleach ppm checks, knife counts, cleaning of sealers, and clearing spinner bags.
- Assign work tasks to production line staff and ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensuring the production team is working with Admin tracker on data collection.
- Ensuring Production team and QA team working together.
In Manager’s Absence
- Submit work orders for equipment or facility repairs and maintenance.
- Oversee assigned staff, provide direction, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain adherence to quality, sanitation, and product rotation standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (English).
- Ability to supervise 5-20 staff.
- Previous produce, kitchen and/or supervisor experience.
- Ability to safely bend, twist and lift to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
- Ability to learn and apply knife skills.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
- Food Safe Level 1
