FRESH PRODUCE BUYER – CALGARY

As one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for an experienced Fresh Produce Buyer to join our growing Calgary Team.
Our dynamic and experienced team of Buyers are among the key driving influences of our company.  This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to enrich their procurement and sales experience while being a strategic partner for our suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Purchasing and monitoring produce for direct shipments into Calgary
• Negotiating optimal price levels for your commodities
• Coordinating buying deliveries and inventory from Vancouver head office to Calgary
• Liaising with the Vancouver Team to ensure consistent and exceptional customer service
• Managing sales of certain key accounts
• Forecasting, re-ordering, and working together on chain store ads
• Meeting monthly and yearly targets, growing your gross margins in a disciplined manner

Qualifications include:

• Post-secondary degree, preferably in the Business field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years’ fresh produce buying experience
• An entrepreneurial mind and attitude
• Very detail-oriented and disciplined
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage change effectively
